Our Charleston SC wedding uplighting work was front and center this is past weekend. We worked together with wedding event designers Southern Protocol, and the amazing floral designer, Anne Dabney of Charleston Stems to create several lighting vingettes for a wedding at a private residence along the Stono River.
Traveling down a long gravel road deep into the old plantation section of Johns Island, SC, we came upon a magnificent clearing upon the Stono River. Nestled into this pictureseque and beautiful Low Country spot was a home constructed with the intention of respecting the views of the river. The job is to highlight with uplighting and cafe bulbs strings, but not to add garish over-decor to a wedding site which nature has already perfected.
The pergola is a permanent structure on the property along the river. The winding and lavish florals designed by Charleston Stems are constructed entirely of floral types and vines which are native to the Low Country of South Carolina. The florals were draped and completed first and our Charleston SC wedding uplighting group followed to add the softly-hued uplighting. It made a spectacular central display as the Southern Sun dipped low in the sky.
