We love this magnificent hotel and enjoy working with Charleston’s Places’s world class staff. We had been here only two weeks prior for another national sales summit. We were happy to reprise our AV work with another great national sales meeting, this time for Farm Credit Services.
A wide variety of audiovisual rental equipment was deployed from AV Connections’s vast inventory for this national conference. We provided multiple 9×12″ projection surface screens, Shure UHF Lavalier Microphones, pipe and drape for the screens, standing podium, hand held microphones, multiple 32″ LCD HD flat screen monitors, Extron switchers, and Yamaha mixers among other items for the audiovisual presentation. To light these events, we provided Leko 4 source lighting fixtures, LED SlimPAR 64 decorative stage lighting among other rental lighting inventory items.
The conference meeting and breakout rooms were also individually set up and tech’d by AV Connections with audiovisual rentals and experienced members of our South Carolina and North Carolina conference technology teams. Presentations were held in the Grand Ballroom and breakout rooms throughout the conference.
We look forward to serving FCS again in the future and certainly to working with the talented team at Charleston Belmod Palce again very soon.

It was a pleasure to serve Hughesnet and always a pleasure to provide AV audiovisual rentals at Belmond Charleston Place Hotel for conferences and meetings.
One of our great pleasures in providing Charleston rental lighting is that we are occasionally called to provide lighting for wedding vow renewal ceremonies and receptions. On a recent evening, we had the pleasure of providing an incredible outdoor lighting rental scheme for a Charleston wedding photographer for her vow renewal on the occasion of her tenth wedding anniversary. It was a lovely compliment to be selected by anther respected professional in the Charleston wedding industry. And we knew it would be spectacular, she is an incredible talent and has been a witness to so many of Charleston’s loveliest fetes.
Guests proceeded to the secret garden location of the vow renewal down a pea gravel path lined on both sides with our new orb lighting rentals. The orbs can change color and are an elegant method of lighting a walk safely while maintaining an elegant party atmosphere.
Hanging from a live oak above the entrance to the secret garden was our 24-inch Venetian crystal chandelier. Bringing the elegance of an indoor ballroom to the outdoors is our specialty. These chandelier rentals capture every small piece of light and make them into a one stunning central piece for an incredible party atmosphere. In designing the lighting for an outdoor wedding, you are not limited to keeping our rental chandeliers indoors – but we do need to hang them, ever so carefully, for you!
The final masterful stroke of this incredible wedding lighting scheme was the seventy lines of mini cafe bulb lights enmeshed into a twinkling night ceiling above the secret garden. It was incredible and no photo will ever do it justice. It took many hours to hang and break down, but the history of Charleston weddings – and we’ve seen fifteen years worth – rarely has anything been lit with such abandon and elegance. It was unforgettable.
In our tales of great event lighting rental transformations, we share the above photo with you earlier this month. AV Connections, Inc. was requested by the wedding planner to transform Charleston’s historic Hibernian Hall into an unforgettable night club-like venue for a fabulous couple. Both the wedding planner and the marrying couple really had to dream big with us to see where this design was going. We’re pleased to report everyone was over the top thrilled with the final outcome. The wedding was astoundingly beautiful.
We’re pleased to be able to share the complete album with you today. Wedding photography was by Dana Cubbage Photography who did such a wonderful job to capture both the wedding and the atmosphere so carefully. See it in all it’s glory on this link.
Part of AV Connections, Inc.’s commitment to company excellence is that we routinely ask for feedback regaarding our recent work for our clients. This process has kept AV Connections’ business sharp, aware, and growing in the right ways for our customers for thirty years. It reassures our clients that their experience with our service is critical to us and that we will be there event after the event. And we’ve found that taking a moment after the job is finished gives the client a chance to regroup with both their work and ours.
We had a new client for wedding lighting rentals in Charleston, SC last week, Cibi Events. the wedding she asked AV Connections to provide lighting for was a lighting-driven event; turning Charleston, SC’s venerable Hibernian Hall into a night club. We are pleased to share the feedback for this audiovisual job with you now:
“What more can I say? You and your team did an awesome job.
I must admit, I was a little nervous about this one; all new vendors and a unique design concept but, we pulled it off. Anna and Anthony ( and all of their guests) said it was the best party of their life. I knew I was going out on a limb with the design but it is more than Anna and Anthony could have dreamed of.
Thanks again to you and what you do. I’ll be sure to send pictures Cheers,
Planning & Design
This was such an exciting project,Lighting a night club wedding in one of Charleston, SC’s premiere historic venues. This was a new event planning client for a us, a great group called CiBi Events, and she had a very special request. We spared nothing to turn the already-incredible Hibernian Hall into an unforgettable night club. Only for a few hours, old Hibernian looked like any swank club in New York or Miami, it was fabulous.
This is a look into our set up for this event and soon we will share the lighting photos from the wedding itself.
Every nook and turn of Hibernian’s Greek Revival details both indoors and outside on the facade were captured in the uplighting. The stantions set up above the ballroom were huge to provide all of the spotlighting and colors required to make it perfect. Jared and his team placed and tested every light for direction. The set up, in all too six hours and five people. It was no small wedding lighting job, we were pleased to be handed this challenge. It went off without a hitch and we cannot wait to bring you the pictures from this remarkable night.
AV Connections was pleased to be the charity event audiovisual sponsor for last night’s Travis Branch Swing for a Cure Tournament Kick Off Party in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The Kick Off party begins the golf tournament weekend for the charity and is a great way to get the players and their families involved and excited. We were pleased to be on hand with an audiovisual system to get the evening rolling.
Swing for a Cure was founded in memory of Travis Branch and Eric Crawford. This charity raises funds for the Comprehensive Sarcoma Program at the Hollings Cancer Center at Medical University of South Carolina, funding the research needed to save lives. The golf tournament and kick off party are yearly events held in Mt. Pleasant, SC. This year, the Saturday golf tournament which follows the kick off event you see here will be played at Patriots Point Links.
Our community is grateful for the ongoing work of charities like these, and especially of MUSC which serves our local community. We were pleased to help with this Kick Off party and we look forward to many happy years of fundraising alongside Swing for a Cure.
On June 17, 2015, in our beautiful home city, Charleston, SC the lives of nine of our neighbors were taken during bible study at Mother Emanuel Church on Calhoun Street. It was only minutes before the world was coming as fast as they could. In all the noise surrounding this tragedy, it is easy to miss the most important agony of all.
We are a family here at AV Connections. Both actually, and in sentiment. We work together, we live together, we worship together. We serve churches and civic organizations just as did the lost members of Mother Emanuel. We feel the pain of these families; loss so acute that finding the words to write now is nearly impossible. We look on each reached-out hand of a family member with renewed thanks and we agonize for our neighbors at Mother Emanuel whose loss we cannot fathom.
We are angered that anything should be lost to hatred, let alone human life. We are desperately aching for the parents and children who have lost those they cherish most and cannot for a moment hope to understand their pain. We hope only that our prayers are heard for their peace. A better world must await for all of us now, this is the only solace in Charleston’s shared grief.
It’s that time of year again and Charleston commencement AV Rentals season has returned at AV Connections.
Things get busy with indoor and outdoor events in April and May in Charleston – they are perfect months for weather in our fair city, many events are planned for this time period. This lovely season for visitors also coincides with the graduation and commencements of seven regional schools, among them the Charleston School of Law. AV Connections was pleased to be on hand to provide Charleston commencement AV rentals for this wonderful, if a little misty-eyed, event.
We have been blessed to work with Charleston Law School on various events since it’s founding ten years ago, it is South Carolina’s second law school, the only one in our Low Country. Centrally located among the historic buildings of old Charleston, both it’s reputation and beautiful location make it a desirable school in which to spend three years in the study of law.
We are proud of you, Charleston Law School Class of 2015. We know you’ll go on to do great things in the field of law as well as many others. This graduate degree is both an achievement and a whole new field of opportunities for your dedicated group. We look forward to following your careers, and broadcasting your achievements over and over as the years go by.
