Audio Visual Technician – Part-time/Full-time
Location: Charleston, SC
Basic delivery, set-up, operation and tear-down of large and small scale audiovisual systems for live events while ensuring the best in client satisfaction. Responsible for accurate set-up and proper operation of basic electronic equipment. Provide excellent service and strive to exceed expectations and needs of customers. Maintain a positive relationship with all clients through excellent communication. Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational skills to troubleshoot and problem solve. Understand company processes, follow procedures and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately. Interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment. Increase revenue by utilizing up-selling techniques. Work with clients to finalize invoices.
• High School diploma required
• Live event experience and previous customer service experience helpful
• Technical aptitude and basic understanding of how to use audiovisual equipment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized
• Must be able to accommodate a rotating work schedule to include nights and weekends
• Portrays a polished professional image to meet company dress code requirements
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Clean driving record
• Video-editing skills a plus

Once again, AV Connections, Inc. had the pleasure to serve a great client with conference AV rentals in Charleston at the Belmond Charleston Place Hotel. We love this magnificent hotel and enjoy working with Charleston’s Places’s world class staff. We had been here only two weeks prior for another national sales summit. We were happy to reprise our AV work with another great national sales meeting, this time for Farm Credit Services.
A wide variety of audiovisual rental equipment was deployed from AV Connections’s vast inventory for this national conference. We provided multiple 9×12″ projection surface screens, Shure UHF Lavalier Microphones, pipe and drape for the screens, standing podium, hand held microphones, multiple 32″ LCD HD flat screen monitors, Extron switchers, and Yamaha mixers among other items for the audiovisual presentation. To light these events, we provided Leko 4 source lighting fixtures, LED SlimPAR 64 decorative stage lighting among other rental lighting inventory items.
The conference meeting and breakout rooms were also individually set up and tech’d by AV Connections with audiovisual rentals and experienced members of our South Carolina and North Carolina conference technology teams. Presentations were held in the Grand Ballroom and breakout rooms throughout the conference.
We look forward to serving FCS again in the future and certainly to working with the talented team at Charleston Belmod Palce again very soon.
AV Connections was recently given the pleasure of serving the Hughesnet’s conference with great meeting audiovisual at the Belmond Charleston Place Hotel off King Street in our own beautiful Charleston, SC. Charleston is one of the nation’s most popular conference destinations; Offering the most beautiful city in the U.S. complete with our own incredible mix of five star dining and restaurants and along side incredible beaches and golf.
The Farm Credit Council selected the venerable, beautiful, and centrally located Belmond Charleston Place for their 2015 meetings and conference, and selected AV Connections to provide the audiovisual rentals and technical team to support these events. We were pleased to send our event technology group, joined by other teams members from our North Carolina branch, to provide both flawless AV and knowledgeable and experienced audiovisual technicians. We were happy to set up, tech, and tear down their conference and always welcome the opportunity to provide clients with the same level of service in all future cities their conferences many travel to.

It was a pleasure to serve Hughesnet and always a pleasure to provide AV audiovisual rentals at Belmond Charleston Place Hotel for conferences and meetings.
One of our great pleasures in providing Charleston rental lighting is that we are occasionally called to provide lighting for wedding vow renewal ceremonies and receptions. On a recent evening, we had the pleasure of providing an incredible outdoor lighting rental scheme for a Charleston wedding photographer for her vow renewal on the occasion of her tenth wedding anniversary. It was a lovely compliment to be selected by anther respected professional in the Charleston wedding industry. And we knew it would be spectacular, she is an incredible talent and has been a witness to so many of Charleston’s loveliest fetes.
Guests proceeded to the secret garden location of the vow renewal down a pea gravel path lined on both sides with our new orb lighting rentals. The orbs can change color and are an elegant method of lighting a walk safely while maintaining an elegant party atmosphere.
Hanging from a live oak above the entrance to the secret garden was our 24-inch Venetian crystal chandelier. Bringing the elegance of an indoor ballroom to the outdoors is our specialty. These chandelier rentals capture every small piece of light and make them into a one stunning central piece for an incredible party atmosphere. In designing the lighting for an outdoor wedding, you are not limited to keeping our rental chandeliers indoors – but we do need to hang them, ever so carefully, for you!
The final masterful stroke of this incredible wedding lighting scheme was the seventy lines of mini cafe bulb lights enmeshed into a twinkling night ceiling above the secret garden. It was incredible and no photo will ever do it justice. It took many hours to hang and break down, but the history of Charleston weddings – and we’ve seen fifteen years worth – rarely has anything been lit with such abandon and elegance. It was unforgettable.
